Review: GC Cameron was born and raised in McCall Creek, Mississippi, and by the age of 22 he was already famous having joined Motown Records. He was signed up as lead singer of the legendary group The Spinners and had several web recover tunes and a few hits such as 'It's A Shame,' which was co-written and produced by Stevie Wonder. After that, Cameron left the group and went solo and teamed up with Harvey Faqua, Greg Crockett and Elgie Stover to record his best-ever work, which now makes its way onto this fine four-track EP courtesy of Soundway.

Nirwana (4:54)
Pull Up (5:04)
Daze Of Our Lives (4:59)
Life Changed (4:50)
Review: We shouldn't need to hype Critical Music up to you too much - the label is a true staple of underground drum & bass after all. Even so, it's exciting to see two powerful forces coming together, and Coco Bryce remains at the top of his game bowling onto this EP for the London imprint with the cheekily titled Nirwana EP. The title track is a delicate, melancholic affair with some smart vocal snippets arranged into an emotive framework before we drop into some outstanding Apache chops. 'Pull Up' meanwhile offers its own distinctive flair with jazzy key licks sprinkled in the breakdown before a coolly dispatched Think break kicks in across the mix. There are ravier synth stabs at work on 'Daze Of Our Lives' and 'Life Changed' lets a little dub slip into the mix, not least thanks to the proper sub line rounding out the bottom end of this typically classy joint with that distinctive Bryce flair about it.

Dengue Dengue Dengue - "Oasi Nella Giungla" (4:21)
Giuliano Sorgini - "Oasi Nella Giungla" (2:51)
Review: Library musician Giuliano Sorgini originally wrote music for films, TV and documentaries, and between 1974 and 1976 he laid the foundations for this jungly rhythmic opus. Then in 1975, meandering through a series of animal calls and wild forested textures, a series of entrancing rhythmic pieces emerged from the dark. The collectors' favourite Africa Oscura is now reissued via Four Flies, and is the impeccable album from which these two choice, mix-worthy cuts come.

Upside Down (7:32)
Upside Down (Audio Werner remix) (7:33)
Side 2 Side (7:33)
Side 2 Side (Arapu remix) (8:12)
Review: Yuna 003 is a four-track EP that features two original tracks by Devv and Paul Quzz, and two remixes by Audio Werner and Arapu. The A-side features 'Upside Down', a hypnotic and trippy track with a vocal sample and a synth line that create a mesmerising atmosphere, followed by a remix by the ever reliable Audio Werner who adds more percussion and swing for a more dynamic and funky version. The B-side features 'Side 2 Side', a more upbeat and bouncy track with a catchy piano riff and a vocal chop that add some soul and energy, followed by Arapu's remix of the track that gives it a more stripped-down and minimal touch, with a deeper bassline and a more intricate drum pattern.

Eric OS - "Zeal"
Gogo Gadgeto - "Jetpack"
Central Intelligence - "Altered Dimension"
Sweely - "Waves After Waves"
Review: Four house and techno producers contribute to the Ninja Tools series by Lumbago, who specialise in various artists compilations with a minimal breaks aesthetic. Like lightspeed shurikens in flight, 'Ninja Tools Vol 6' is their latest: its four tracks span the spitty ('Jetpack') to the weighty and euphoric ('Altered Dimension'), aiming squarely for a certain emotional in-beween place. Together they totally nail that purgatorial interzone between trance, ambient techno and minimal breaks.

Hey You (2:10)
Review: The Exploited are one of the most important Scottish punk bands, period. Their hardcore sound started belting out from Edinburgh in 1979 and by the time they released their second album Troops Of Tomorrow three years later they were UK-wide legends. Of all the tracks on the album, 'USA' is one of the sharpest, calling out the superpower in no uncertain times set to a pile-driving hardcore beat. Now Cleopatra are pressing the tune on 7" for the very first time, backed with 'UK82' and 'Hey You', the latter of which was originally a secret track on Troops Of Tomorrow.

Dimension X (6:18)
Review: Fractions are a duo of Russian producers who make high-energy and uncompromising techno music. Their latest release on NG Trax is a four-track EP which showcases their influences from their youth such as The Prodigy, with EBM and fast-paced club music. The EP features tracks like 'If You Love Me' (Press Play), a catchy and infectious banger with a vocal sample and a breakbeat rhythm, and 'Rush Zone' - a collaboration with Blame The Mono - that features a powerful bassline underpinning a vicious synth lead. 'Dimension X' is an intense sonic journey that transports listeners to another dimension.

Review: 'Acid'(when referring to the TB-303 hardware that makes the sound, that is) is rarely leant into as an artistic inspiration - it's usually just used as a tool for making a cool sound. That all changed with the launch of Acid Avengers recently, a French series that not only showcases the various artists behind the contemporary acid techno scene in France, but which treats acid as an entire universe unto its own right. Post-apocalyptic acid mutants blessed with powers of tactile corrosion are portrayed on their front covers, matching the raucous vibe of armageddon portrayed through their contributing tracks - here from twin doom harbingers Jacquarius and Mono Enzyme 307. Don't miss these ultra-saturated, high-concept heaters.

Gangster Le S
Puppet Master
Review: Shonky is a French house mainstay and one-third of Apollonia alongside Dyed Soundorom and Dan Ghenacia. Before that trio came together he often turned out cool club cuts in a minimal house style and it is that form which he recaptures now with a first EP on his own new label. 'S-Time' is a wonky one with shimmering snares and uneven synths over loopy drums while 'Gangster Le S' has a crisp tech punch to it under more unusual melodies that bring some whimsy. There is much darker afterparty energy to the stiff tech and skewed synths of 'Puppet Master' but the EP highlight comes with closer 'Tesshno,' a slower, downtempo jam with wispy neon lines and a futuristic cosmic backlight that will be great in the wee small hours.

Unknown Depths (4:54)
Clouds (4:47)
Deep Space (5:57)
Review: Minimal three-lettered maestros SND & RTN return for yet more dub techno trickery. 'Unknown Depths' scours an abyssally wet pit of sound over the course of four tunes, rivalling images of perhaps some underwater Tartarus-Marianas lovechild. As ever, the analog-centrism rings true with this prolific duo; true Von Oswald-style tape delay/feedback noise, sidechained to high heaven, is heard on the title track, lending an inimitable stamp of unpolished legitness to an otherwise often-clean sound. The stabs and hats of 'Clouds' and 'Deep Space', meanwhile, are clean and adept, not overthought but certainly just well-placed to arouse the best of emotions is us.

Review: Justin Francazio first emerged as Submersion with an album on Silent Season back in 2008, and that label affiliation should give you a strong idea of the realm his music moves in. There's a consistent thread throughout his catalogue, which now arrives at Lithuanian label Greyscale in evocative blooms of ambience which mask the consistent whispering pulses of dub techno. This is deep listening fare from start to finish, with patient ebbs and flows in the music and a steady rhythmic drift to guide your mind. Rarely has an artist's name so aptly conjured up the sound of their craft - an art they've been perfecting over an accomplished career, and sounding better than ever on this latest release.

Can't Get Enough (Of Your Love) (Soul mix) (8:04)
Can't Get Enough (Nice Up - Reggae mix) (6:34)
Review: Last year, Freestyle Records reissued 'Tonight's The Night', the 1983 debut from West London outfit Take Three - a collaboration between production trio S.H.E (Steve Sinclair, Peter Hinds and Kevin Ellis) and lover's rock vocal harmony group Alpha (AKA Marlene Richardson and sisters Jackie and Jean Heron). 'Can't Get Enough', another gem from the band's vaults, dates from 1985 and was initially released as their final single. In keeping with the group's roots, it comes in two contrasting mixes: a gorgeously dreamy, glossy and glassy 'Soul Mix' powered forward by squelchy synth-bass, mid-tempo beats and jaunty, jazz-funk style keyboard riffs, and the 'Reggae Mix'. As the title suggests, this radically alters the tempo and groove of the track - it's basically synth-heavy, mid-80s lovers rock - whilst retaining key elements of the A-side soul version.

Review: Jayson Wynters is one of the UK's more underrated producers. He hails from Birmingham, has mastered Kung Fu and is no slouch in the studio. This outing on Spanish label Pulp - written back during the lockdowns - is one of his best yet - a deep look into the cosmos, with star-gazing synth lines and analogue drum sounds that are frayed around the edges. Misty-eyed chords define many tracks, with the loosely jumbled drums and rasping basslines all interlocking perfectly. 'Corns Funk' has twanging bass riffs that remind of Prince, while 'Night Drive' is a Dam-Funk style late-night street cruise during sunset.

Review: A multi region Blu-ray edition of the classic album by the Alan Parsons Project.

Remastered and remixed from the original master tapes by Alan Parsons.

Featuring a stunning new 5.1 surround sound from the original multi-track master tapes by Alan Parsons and 4 promotional videos.

Includes an illustrated booklet with new essay.

First released in November 1980, 'The Turn Of A Friendly Card' was the fifth album by The Alan Parsons Project, the brainchild of composer, musician and manger Eric Woolfson and celebrated producer and engineer Alan Parsons.

Inspired by their time in Monte Carlo, this legendary album was recorded in Paris. The album sessions featured the contribution of musicians such as Ian Bairnson (guitars), David Paton (bass), Stuart Elliott (drums) with Eric Woolfson playing keyboards and providing lead vocals, along with Elmer Gantry, Chris Rainbow and Lenny Zakatek.

It became one of the biggest selling albums for The Alan Parsons Project, attaining gold status in many European countries and the USA.

Review: Alive Cooper's 1971 classic Killer was his fourth studio album during a truly unstoppable period for the Detroit rocker. He clocked up consecutive platinum-selling albums as well as five Top 40 hits such 'I'm Eighteen,' 'School's Out' and 'No More Mr. Nice Guy.' This reissue comes alongside a reissue of the 1972 album School's Out and has been newly remastered with the addition of rare recordings and previously unreleased live performances. This one topped out at #21 on the Billboard albums chart and featured hit singles such as 'Under My Wheels' and 'Be My Lover' as well as a prog-rock-inspired epic in the shape of 'Halo Of Flies.'
